Did you like Moss' book? It's been a while, but I remember thinking it was mostly conjecture and seemed to have a real axe to grind. I love a good counter-narrative in historical endeavors, but my impression was mainly irritation. Maybe I'd be more open to the arguments and less threatened or attacked these days?
A masterful post, thank you. So, how are we to understand the "cosmos's sin?" Did the ancient Jews share with the Stoics the notion of the cosmos as an organism ? They're conception of Logos surly influenced Christianity, but many don't realize how it relies on this notion of a living cosmos. Again, thanks so much David.
